Cloche Hats: a roaring success!
Cloche hats might make you think of the Roaring Twenties but they are alive and very much in vogue in 2010!
Our new Cloche Hat Course is proving very popular. A customer even tried to buy the cloche lovingly created by one of our students because it was so good – not that we like to boast on their behalf …

We started to realise recently what a wide range of people enrol on our classes at Atelier Millinery.
Londoners are regulars at Kingly Court, of course, but we meet people from all over the world. They have in common an interest in hats and in learning something new – apart from that, they couldn’t be more different. We have taught burlesque performers, dentists, solicitors, cabin crew, bankers, civil servants, doctors, students, teachers, designers, ladies of leisure and many aspiring milliners.
We wonder who we will meet next…
Below are some great examples of work from this week’s students:
Red Legs in Kingly Court
Here’s a very interesting blog you might like to read. We could be biased as it is all about Atelier Millinery!
We met ‘Red Legs in Soho’ when she was busy being a lady about town.
Carole Denford, Editor of ‘The Hat’ magazine celebrated with us at the launch of our boutique in May and then joined us again recently to see one of our creative classes in full swing.

Panamas with prints

Festive courses will begin in November and planning is underway to bring you some very exciting ideas for gifts and decorations. We will send out an alert as soon as the Festive timetable is complete.
We always enjoy getting to know our students and working with them on the courses but a recent Fascinator Kit class was exceptional. One of our students discovered her ‘inner hat wearing person’ and declared it a Life-Changing-Moment!
She was transformed before our eyes from someone who was unsure of what to make and how to approach fashion in general, into a confident wearer of feathers, flowers and all manner of other trimmings.
Another student is now considering a career in millinery. We could not be more proud.
