Panamas with prints
We have been successfully running millinery workshops for several years across the south of England, including the prestigious Victoria & Albert Museum. From our stylish new premises in Kingly Court, we will be hosting classes for all levels from beginners to advanced, deploying a wide variety of techniques and approaches.
Classes are held for groups of up to six people and are aiming at all levels from beginners to advanced. Don’t worry if you are less than familiar with a needle and thread – there’s always the glue gun. read more…
We are pleased to announce that our courses are now timetabled up to the end of October 2010.
Please click here to see images of examples of what you can make, course descriptions and the timetable.
Festive courses will begin in November and planning is underway to bring you some very exciting ideas for gifts and decorations. We will send out an alert as soon as the Festive timetable is complete.
We always enjoy getting to know our students and working with them on the courses but a recent Fascinator Kit class was exceptional. One of our students discovered her ‘inner hat wearing person’ and declared it a Life-Changing-Moment!
She was transformed before our eyes from someone who was unsure of what to make and how to approach fashion in general, into a confident wearer of feathers, flowers and all manner of other trimmings.
Another student is now considering a career in millinery. We could not be more proud.
It’s been a busy week so far and it’s only Wednesday.
Our students surprise us all the time with the beautiful creations that they produce on our courses. Some of them even agreed to model for us this week!

Perfect Panamas at Atelier Millinery
Congratulations to Megan for producing such a fabulous hat this weekend!
Starting with a basic ladies panama, she learned how to tailor it to her size, shorten the crown and then trim it with some very smart shirting fabric.

Atelier Millinery is opening!
Dear friends
Atelier Millinery will open for business on Thursday 13th May 2010.
The idea for this new venture grew from a millinery wish list:
- beautiful feathers, flowers and trimmings sourced from far and wide
- excellent quality materials and millinery equipment all in one place
- friendly service from people who know their stuff
- space to design, work and teach
And so the list grew into a shop with all of the above as well as hats and fascinators from carefully selected labels.
Please join the Opening Day celebrations from 6pm to 9pm.
We look forward to seeing you.
